GEEBEE are now in Sherbrooke

By July 15, 2021Articles

Good news for sustainable mobility in Sherbrooke! Starting Friday, a GEEBEE and E-bike fleet will be available for residents and visitors to tour around the city. Concept GEEBEE is proud to be part of this project that will greatly help stimulating ecomobility on the Sherbrooke territory.

The Vélectrik Sherbrooke Project

The Vélectrik Sherbrooke project was launched on July 14th at the Bureau de l’information touristique de Sherbrooke. Its primary goal is to offer an eco-friendly alternative for urban travel.

For Mr. Steve Lussier, Mayor of Sherbrooke, it is also a great opportunity for discovering or rediscovering the city while protecting the environment. Through Vélectrik, he wishes to encourage residents switch to this new means of transportation and therefore reduce the use of gas-powered cars.

An STS, CMDS and Destination Sherbrooke initiative

With the wave of ground transportation electrification, the Société de transports de Sherbrooke and Destination Sherbrooke saw an opportunity to address one of the city’s main issues: its many slopes. The provision of GEEBEE and electric bicycles will thus greatly facilitate travelling in the area. This new way of transportation will also help decrease transportation sector’s GHG emissions:

“For the CMDS and the Bureau de l’environnement, it is an important step towards helping decrease the impact of people’s travelling on Sherbrooke’s territory.” Mentioned Mr Marc Denault, President of the Centre de mobilité durable de Sherbrooke.

The project offers citizens greener travel options and hopes to obtain feedback to better meet people’s expectations for sustainable mobility.

An important partnership for Concept GEEBEE

Concept GEEBEE is truly proud to be part of this project, which is directly in line with the vision and actions of the company regarding transport decarbonisation. Giving the opportunity to rent a GEEBEE offers residents a nice ecological alternative for urban territory transportation.

We hope that the project will be well supported and that we will be able to pursue the test bench to deploy our solution on a larger scale through Sherbrooke city.

The GEEBEE and E-bike are available in bench test until October, by reservation only. You can book your GEEBEE online here.
