Concept Geebee Inc., whose electric mobipods have been legally on the road in Qu\u00e9bec for nearly three years, has announced the\u00a0closing of its funding round of one million dollars. With the capital raised, Concept Geebee Inc.\u00a0will soon be launching several new vehicles, docking stations, and fleet management solutions incorporating artificial intelligence technologies.<\/p>\n

We are concluding an ambitious fundraising effort while the pandemic is making the economy more complex. I would like to thank our partners for funding a future of clean technologies,\u201d said Sabine Le N\u00e9vannau, President-CEO of Concept Geebee Inc.<\/p>\n

With impetus from its major angel investor<\/a> Jean Ricard, the company is assuring its development in Qu\u00e9bec and beyond. \u201cOur investment in this booming mobility sector, in conjunction with Sherbrooke Innopole and other private partners, will enable Concept Geebee Inc. to obtain the resources required for rapid deployment,\u201d pointed out Mr. Ricard, who now sits on the company\u2019s board of directors. The new investors join the organization\u2019s long-term partners, including C3E<\/a> led by Donald Angers, and the Economic Development Agency of Canada for Qu\u00e9bec Regions.<\/p>\n

\u201cSherbrooke Innopole<\/a> is proud to support the resilient team at Concept Geebee in the technological development of its sustainable mobility solution through our pre-marketing fund and sector-based expertise.\u00a0The incorporation of on-board connectivity and artificial intelligence at GEEBEE is the next logical step, in line with both client needs and current trends,\u201d noted Jos\u00e9e Fortin, Director General of Sherbrooke Innopole.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Business Development Bank of Canada<\/a>\u00a0(BDC) is contributing to the company\u2019s marketing efforts through a loan of $300\u00a0000, while\u00a0BMO<\/a>\u00a0has offered funding solutions to fulfil the ever-increasing backlog of orders.<\/p>\n

Investissement Qu\u00e9bec<\/a>\u00a0(IQ), through the Innovation Program of the Minist\u00e8re de l\u2019\u00c9conomie et de l\u2019Innovation du\u00a0Qu\u00e9bec, is also contributing to the funding through a grant. This assistance will enable, among other things, the deployment of innovative electric mobility infrastructure projects related, in particular, to cargo-type vehicles and next-generation docking stations. This is an ideal complement to the\u00a0VITE (validation of pilot technological innovations) grant allocated by Sherbrooke Innopole\u00a0for a technological showcase demonstrating the connectivity features in all GEEBEE vehicles.<\/p>\n

The company has initiated a strategic shift toward local authorities throughout Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are rapidly moving toward our goal of offering a full range of electric vehicles and software solutions to companies and smart cities, so they can optimally operate a fleet of green vehicles, with or without anchoring,\u201d noted Sabine Le N\u00e9vannau.<\/p>\n

In May, the company will launch a pilot project in the city of L\u2019Assomption for the very first three-wheel cargo vehicle\u00a0featuring optimized battery management using artificial intelligence.\u00a0\u201cThanks to IV\u00c9O<\/a>\u2019s member cities, we can quickly test our innovations before releasing them on the market,\u201d explained Jean Jacques Le Roy, Operations Manager at Concept Geebee.<\/p>\n

The company will also be busy creating a\u00a0technological showcase with the cities of Sherbrooke and Varennes to feature its expertise in connectivity and fleet management optimization. \u201cWe rely a great deal on research and development to always be at the forefront of innovation.
